Learn about hand-cut, hand-painted, and hand-printed stencils used in screenprinting. Some techniques covered will include: hand-cut direct-to-screen stencils, and reductive screenprint. You'll also learn tricks to creating textured and painterly effects to the otherwise flat color layers typically seen in screenprints. You will leave with the essential tools to start screenprinting at home - a quality, professional-grade screen, squeegee, a pair of registration pins, AND a portable screenprint table! Color/paint mixing experience will be very helpful!Advanced Beginner to Intermediate

Leslie was born and raised in Midwest America. She received her Printmaking BFA from Western Michigan University in 2008 and her MFA in Printmaking from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 2012. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally at IPCNY in New York City; The Grand Rapids Art Museum, Barbara Archer Gallery, and Grafiki Warsztatowej in Poznan, Poland, amongst others. Her prints, artist books, and marbled papers can be found in multiple university and private collections. Since 2005, Leslie has curated and installed countless art exhibitions and has been a director of cooperative and academic galleries. Currently she lives and makes work in Philadelphia, PA.
