In this weekend workshop you will take on a number of challenging soldering techniques. We will cover and practice techniques like chain making, sweat soldering, post soldering, hinges, and more. We will discuss different approaches, tricks to try, and how to troubleshoot. By focusing on process, you will build confidence and be able to apply your skills to future projects. Some basic metalsmithing experience is required. Advanced Beginner and Beyond

Amelia Toelke holds a BFA from the State University of New York at New Paltz and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her art practice draws on her training in jewelry and metalsmithing yet transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries. A combination of sculpture, drawing, and collage, Toelke's work explore given conceptions of object, image, reality, and representation. Amelia has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. She was selected as an artist in residence at Lanzhou City University in Lanzhou, China in 2015. In 2016 Amelia was an artist in residence at the Brush Creek Center for the Arts in Saratoga, Wyoming and participated in an international exhibition and art symposium in Tbilisi, Georgia. She is currently working on a collaborative exhibition slated to coincide with the 2020 centennial commemoration of women suffrage held at the Women's Rights National Historic Park in Seneca Falls, NY.
