Expand your clay practice with glass using an electric kiln. Participants will learn how to cut, assemble and fire glass based on its technical properties, how to load the kiln, what materials/tools are needed, firing schedules, types of firing for certain results and cold working to make jewelry or incorporate fused glass into fired clay objects. Fusing, slumping, tack and fire polishing techniques will be covered. Making work to take home will be a byproduct of the workshop, not the primary focus. Beginner and Beyond

Lisa G. Westheimer is a full time artist living/working in northern NJ. She has an MA in studio arts (Ceramics) from Montclair State University and teaches ceramics and glass at The Yard School of Art at the Montclair Art Museum in Montclair, NJ; and was an instructor/demonstrating artist at Peters Valley School of Craft in 2016, 2017 & 2019. www.lisagw.com
