About

Come make multiple Monoprints with and without a printing press utilizing ancient and modern methods. You will have the opportunity to work with Plexiglas, Styrofoam and Kut plates, using very safe and intensely colored Akua water-based inks to create one of a kind images that will be printed onto a variety of papers. Learn to use our three printing presses and the Baren (a Japanese hand tool) to print without a press. The processes are spontaneous, simple and allow ideas to soar from your sketchbook. This weekend workshop will be a chance to explore additive techniques using overlays, reversals, ghost prints and subtractive methods where you apply color to your plate and then remove color using different tools to create imagery. You will have plenty of time to try different methods and exercises in composition with one-on-one guidance and will complete several prints. Come find your inspiration; Czashka will help! Beginner and Beyond
