Ideal for artists at every career stage, this workshop will help you focus your energies and find strategies to move your art business to the next level. This is a hands-on course that will give you individualized, specific, practical tools to increase your art sales and exposure. Topics covered will include business plans for artists, defining your brand, time management and productivity, portfolio strategy, pricing your work, researching and approaching galleries, web platforms for artists, social media, finding the right markets for your work and art business nuts and bolts such as copyright, sales tax, business licenses and inventory systems. Beginner and Beyond.

Gayle Mahoney has worked as an arts marketer and advisor for many individual artists and nonprofits including the Montclair Art Museum, GlassRoots, Studio Montclair and Arts Unbound, and has been teaching her Business Bootcamp for Artists cource since 2010. Gayle is also a professional artist, working in a variety of fine art and craft media. Earlier in her career she worked as an art director in advertising, creating ad campaigns for Fortune 500 companies including Walmart, Hewlett-Packard and Johnson & Johnson. In addition to managing her own art business, Gayle is also an artist educator for Marabu Crative art supply company. She studied art, marketing and communication as San Francisco State University, and holds a bachelor's degree in Art in Society from Skidmore College. www.gaylemahoney.com
